Objective

RBC Wealth Management offers a comprehensive suite of online tools for clients to manage their wealth effectively.

Although this project is confidential and I can’t share product screens, I can explain the design process we used.

The team addressed this challenge by employing multiple research methods, synthesizing findings, creating wireframes, testing, and iteratively refining them based on insights gained.

In my role, I developed Figma prototypes of the updated tools and supervised the work of offshore UX developers to ensure seamless implementation.

Process and Methodology

Research Approach:
We started by interviewing stakeholders, fly-on-the-wall observations, and performing a content audit of the platform. This helped us understand where users struggled and identify parts of the platform that were underused.

Content Strategy:
Based on what we learned, we created a simpler platform. This involved removing unnecessary sections and fixing problems on key pages to improve the user experience.

Prototyping and Testing:
I provided detailed requirements to our offshore UX developers, who created components in Figma. These were added to a full Figma prototype of the application. Next, we used A/B testing with select users to find issues. We fixed these issues and tested again. I worked closely with the developers to make sure updates were accurate.

User Testing and Iteration:
After the initial round of testing, we conducted broader user testing. Insights from these sessions helped us further refine the platform and restart the improvement cycle.

In Conclusion

My work with RBC Wealth Management demonstrates a meticulous, research-driven approach to enhancing client tools for effective wealth management. By leveraging multiple research methods and continuously refining through A/B testing and user feedback, we created a streamlined and user-centered platform. My role in developing Figma prototypes and overseeing offshore UX developers ensured alignment with the content strategy and seamless implementation of design updates.

This iterative process, grounded in stakeholder insights and real user data, fostered an adaptable, optimized solution that aligns with RBC Wealth Management’s commitment to empowering clients with sophisticated, accessible tools for managing their financial well-being.
